A match is an introduction, not a signed loan
A loan-referral platform collects information and may introduce an applicant to one or more finance providers. It does not necessarily advance money or set the eventual repayment terms. Before completing a matching form, read who receives the information, whether the platform is paid for referrals and which company will contact you. An estimated offer on the first screen is not evidence that a creditor has approved a loan.
Identify the recipient of your application
Prêt Instant expressly describes a referral role, with lending decisions made by its partners. Treat the subsequent lender’s identity, enquiry policy and agreement as a separate review. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner explains how to question requests for sensitive identifiers such as a Social Insurance Number. Provide only information needed for the stated purpose through verified channels, and keep a copy of the consent wording if applications may be sent to multiple businesses.
