Regular salary does not equal spare income
For an employed applicant, a lender’s income review usually starts with wages reaching the bank account. Salary, regular hourly pay and occasional overtime should not be treated as equally dependable. Prepare recent pay information and explain any change in employer, hours or deposit schedule. Even where no bureau inquiry is advertised, an application may be declined if existing withdrawals leave insufficient room for the new repayment.
Use net pay and dependable hours
Wagepay’s published process uses employment income and account history in its supported provinces. PAY2DAY also identifies income and banking requirements. Compare the proposed debit date with your employer’s actual payroll schedule, including holidays and any unpaid leave already planned. A repayment set immediately after payday can still be unaffordable if housing and transport bills fall in the same week. Asking payroll about an available salary advance may resolve a small timing gap without adding a commercial loan.
